Frost

Frost

When I was but a young skull full of mush at the tender age of 17 leaning how to be a Jedi Appliance Guy , one of the Jedi Masters ( Robert Tracy at Amira Services ) took the time to have a conversation with me about frost and ice. It was simple conversation but he knew, if I was going to learn the ways of the Force, it was necessary to have it.

He said to me “Hey Slick, do you know the difference between frost and ice?” Between the two of us we ended up saying that frost was frozen condensation. It happens when moist air comes in contact with a freezing cold surface. Ice is frozen water (or perhaps frost that has melted and frozen again). Then we agreed that frost is “frosty” and ice is ..... ice.

I can hear you saying “but Jedi, what does this have to do with the Force?” Ah... The Force is all around us. The Force is energy, energy is the Force. There is Force in frost. There is Force in Ice. There is Force in water too. (There is Force in that which fuels the bubbling acrylic cylinder of enlightenment) Humidity is a Force. The Jedi Mobiel converts liquid Force into mechanical Force so that it may carry me from service call to service call. Heat is a Force. Cold is the absence of heat. Heat travels to cold so that it may spread evenly about. Electricity is a Force. A Jedi strives to understand these Forces so that he may use this knowledge of the Force in his daily battles with broken appliances. A Jedi Appliance Guy can read the frost and ice, much like an auto mechanic can read a spark plug.

This hunk of frost came from the ice dispenser chute of a GE refrigerator. Do you think the little flap door to the ice dispenser wasn't closing properly or was water dripping into the ice chute and freezing?
